This is an aesthetic procedure that involves using a silicone breast implant to increase the size of the breasts. This is one of the most common aesthetic procedures around the world, allowing the correction of cases of hipomasty or small mammary volume, as well as cases of light to moderate breast ptosis (caused by aging or regression after pregnancy and breastfeeding). There are several possible ways to introduce the prosthesis and several anatomical plans where it can be placed. The quality of the prosthesis and its shape are variable too. Its choice depends on the clinical evaluation and it is decided during the pre-op consultation to obtain the more natural and adequate results regarding the patient’s body.

Drains are not used. An ambulatory surgery is chosen and the patient can go home after a few hours. The sutures are intradermal, with reabsorbable thread. In this way, it is not necessary to remove stiches during the post-op period.
